EU hosts gala in $400,000-metaverse, only 6 people show up

The metaverse has been designed to promote EU's £257-billion investment plan to rival China's Belt and Road Initiative.

I went in to check it out and it's basic and clunky but a good effort considering how much it cost.

400,000 sounds like a lot, bur it is really nothing on the total budget of the EU.
Every years Christmas and New Years parties and decorations will cost more al together, I guess.

Because of the national pride of the French, the EU parliament moves from Brussels to Strasbourg once a month for a week.
Costs: appr. €200 million every year to move the paperwork and other administrative junk back and forth. On top of that there is the extra expenses for the traveling and temp housing of the 705 MP's and their staff.
So those 400k are really peanuts for the EU.
