One more quick question if you please: the game is tagged as single player but the description reads "build grand halls and forge your path in this co-op survival action RPG for up to 16 players." Is it multi-player now, or will the gold version be, or will we have to run a server like we do for Minecraft, or does anybody know?
You can play it locally and also host friends. There are also dedicated servers.

I am playing it together with some friends now on a dedicated server, and we've got tons of fun. We have not reached the Albaneve Summits yet, but other changes are already visible in our little base. Despite the server software of Enshrouded being so far a clunky piece of software and really unoptimized putting a high load on every CPU core it's doing its job with some quirks.

This is my character in the prestige gear from the bard, kneeing in our little farm. Behind you can see our main living building and the newly erected tower with 8x8 m foot print, which can be extended easily into height if needed, so far occupied by one survivor. All NPCs are now roaming around freely, you can turn that off though if you want to. All craftsmen and survivors do require an own bed now to sleep in and shelter. Survivors are just resurrected NPCs giving you some side quests, aside doing nothing. There are also assistants, which do count as survivor as well, but are basically reskinned craftsmen you can put into other bases so you have access to a carpenter, farmer or whatever there as well, if you want to.

Since 8 survivors are required to reach the next level of the flame altar we did need some space to put them in. Craftsmen and assistants are part of the survivor count for the flame altar.

The entrance to a little storage room I carved into the hill behind our farm building:

We've got now weather, too. Here it is raining. Rain actually gives you a nasty debuff on endurance like in many games. Weather occurence was first set to normal, but in our opinion it happened way too lot on normal and rare as well, so we disabled it. We are sure the devs will tone down the occurence of bad weather in a hot fix soon.

And we got... dogs and goats now. Here's our first doggie. At the moment we are busy trying to tame a cat, which really is a PITA. Pets have a high demand on food. Petting them gives a nice buff. The goats are also giving off some milk.

Another view at our stone tower and front of our farm building at the left. Aside it we got a house for the carpenter with blacksmith, another one for the alchemist with huntress and a tavern, where the bard lives in. The spooky collector is living in a little fitting black crypt. There is a public bath as well.

Been making an ill conceived village, playing with everything. When I noticed I started rescuing relatives and villagers, I kind of made a dormitory out of laziness.

Doesn't matter that I keep spawning him inside his shop with a 10m roaming range... he always winds up hanging out with the goat... (-_-)

Well my solution for the villagers (not artisans) is space efficient: 8x8 m square plate with staircase going around on the outside, and 5 levels or so.

So yours have a more luxurious place to stay than mine have.
