Mrs. Beebo and I are in for the long haul. I won't be calling it a day for hours yet.
Judge rejects RNC challenge to Georgia ballots
- In a win for voters, a federal judge rejected the Republican National Committee’s (RNC) lawsuit today trying to block seven Democrat-leaning Georgia counties from counting absentee ballots that voters returned in person over the past few days.
- The Trump-appointed district court judge said the Republican complaint “does not withstand even the most basic level of statutory review and reading comprehension.”
nah, nm, too easyI have too many political tabs open on my web browsers right now.
I need a few porn tabs to balance things out.
I was there earlier but I had to leave.I was just going to open this thread for comments, but now that you mention it, we could also set up inworld at my bar, the Duchess.
I'm not surprised he won KY and IN - I'm surprised by how much. But, I'm also surprised he won the whole damn county. What a thing to wake up to. Hubman is very upset. I don't think it's the end of the world. I'm more concerned about them projecting the Republicans to win back the Senate - a Trump president and a Republican senate - that scares me.I'm also not going to stay up very late watching... will be in bed semi soon. And I'm pretty sure Trump was always expected to win Indiana and Kentucky?
All oppression's born of lies, I don't make the rules, I'm just one guy
All due respect, if getting spit on's how respect is now defined
Hungry for truth but you got screwed and drank the Kool-Aid, there's a line
It end directly at the edge of a mass grave, that's their design
Funny fact about a cage, they're never built for just one group
So when that cage is done with them and you're still poor, it come for you
The newest lowest on the totem, well golly gee, you have been used
You helped to fuel the death machine that down the line will kill you too (oops)
I agree this perception hurt democrats. Not because it was true but because they didn't do enough to counter it. It's the VP's job to step in if something happens to the President and there was no time for a primary, but this perception still hurt us.I think it's more complicated than that. My son shocked me by voting for Trump, but a straight Dem ticket otherwise. He cited being upset with how we got backdoored with Harris for a candidate. Remember in 2016 when they were trying to force Hillary on us, the Dem elites said they didn't even have to have a primary.... So, Spawn thinks the whole thing with Biden dropping out and just appointing Harris was the plan from the beginning because she would have never made it through a fair and open primary season. His exact words were, "F the dems. They can't just do whatever they want and expect us to go along with it." And since Trump seems to have dominated with younger and first time voters, I'm thinking that is a common feeling/belief.
Put another way, much of the public REALLY hates queer people. Republicans have been using this as a rallying cry on all sorts of issues that have nothing to do with trans people. In my state, the abortion amendment was subject to a lot of disinformation that it was somehow related to letting kids transition even though the amendment did nothing of the sort. I don't think mainstream dems have actually pushed trans rights very hard, but the perception they are is very useful to right wing propaganda since trans people seem to inspire deep xenophobia to many people. Also, you guys aren't gonna like this, but the whole Trans thing is hurting the Dems. I've heard more than my fair share of women saying that they're voting for 2 genders, woman only spaces, etc. You can yell, scream, and call names all you want, but it doesn't change how people feel.
The way the right perceives censorship is so bizarre to me, because it's very much a projection. I know tons of people in rural areas with Harris signs got harassed. The conservative subreddit will just immediately ban people for disagreeing with them. ...but I have seen many conservatives claim they FEEL censored when liberals debate them in great numbers. the politics subreddit will downvote and argue with conservatives. The conservative sub just bans liberals, but they still believe they are being censored. Trump's comments about immigrants have often just been factually very racist, but we're the ones who are told we are out of line. Finally because the Dems have really become perceived as bullies who try and silence anyone who doesn't tow the party line a lot of people don't say how they feel/who they're going to vote for because they don't want to be bullied/called names.
The biggest issue that I think dems kind of fucked up on as I stated in another thread was not doing enough to counter the absurd claim that Trump was good for the economy. I think what hurt democrats the most was the wide spread, if provably false belief that Republicans manage the economy better. Plenty of people thought they were voting with their pocket books and just didn't care enough about anything else. The Dems didn't do anything wrong, they put forth all the values and policies that I wanted and they made a great case for them. More people wanted what Trump was selling.
