Got my vote in early-ish.
The line for voting ran around the school where voting is accomplished in my town, wrapping around several corners of the building. It took about 40-45 minutes to get to the head of the line. So I was a bit late starting work this morning.
A new experience for me: I was asked several times if I'd like to step out of line and go to the front. The first time it happened, I must have had a deep look of confusion on my face because the woman asking pointed at my cane. I looked down and went "oh, right!" But told her I was fine. I can endure.
Voting has been streamlined a bit this year. Before, they had several lines for registered voters (which went by name: A-E, F-K, or what have you) where they'd go through a binder of names to find yours, line you out, then hand over a little receipt used to pick up your ballot. Now, they have several "manned" stations where you scan your ID before getting your little receipt. No need for a photo IDs soon, just purely barcoded ones.
Retrieved my ballot sheet, took it to one of the curtained booths, and quickly marked all the Dem names. BLUE WAVE. Then took my ballot up to the ballot scanner machines, slipped it in one, and got my I VOTED sticker.
I have endured!
