Fuck the McCains. If they do this it'll just make things worse.

That's probably what they are hoping for. Spite is the most powerful of Republican motivations after all, and if they can piss off Trump while fucking over the Democrats in one meaningless gesture then all the better.

Sure i'm sure someone's said it before that even. I just wanted to share a fun video that explained the idea well.

Former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. retains a lead among likely Iowa caucusgoers, but both he and Senator Bernie Sanders have lost ground over the past three months while Senator Elizabeth Warren and Pete Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Ind., have made clear gains, according to a new poll from The Des Moines Register and CNN.

The poll showed that Mr. Biden is the first choice for 24 percent of would-be Democratic caucusgoers, with three candidates in a virtual tie for second — Mr. Sanders of Vermont at 16 percent, Ms. Warren of Massachusetts at 15 percent and Mr. Buttigieg at 14 percent.

In March, before Mr. Biden formally entered the race, he and Mr. Sanders held a commanding lead, with 27 percent and 25 percent support according to The Register’s polling, which has long been judged by campaigns as the best in the state. At the time, Ms. Warren was polling at 9 percent and Mr. Buttigieg at 1 percent.

Biden is the Dem candidate with the biggest lead over Trump in the polls, but all the top tier names beat him as well: Sanders, Warren, Harris, Buttigieg and Cory Booker. Warren and Buttigieg continue to climb up in the polls, so they haven't hit their ceiling yet. It's going to be an interesting primary race.

To be honest, I've never paid all that much attention to Joe Biden over the years. The more I read about him, the less I like him.

Biden has long touted himself as someone who is willing to listen to the other side, to commune with people whose worldviews clash with his own in working toward a better world. That communing, though, ends when people—especially women—dare to challenge Biden’s view of himself. That’s because Biden has mythologized his self-image to the point that nudging one block off course would send the entire Jenga tower tumbling down.

Biden does not want to change his perspective and behavior toward half the country’s populace because, simply put, he thinks he is right and we are wrong. Biden cannot wrap his mind around the idea that perhaps, at certain points in his long and fabled career, he was the bad guy.

Same. I'm really not impressed with him. He seems a bit wishy-washy, and his smile has always creeped me out a bit. As far as I'm concerned, he's just another old white guy trying to stay in the political limelight as long as possible. If he, by chance, wins the Democratic primary, I'll vote for him because - creepy as he is - he's miles upon miles better than dealing with Trump for another four years. But to be honest, I don't think he'd do very well against Trump in the elections.

Elizabeth Warren has a plan for everything...except health care.

Mike doesn't say so, but there are two alarming things she said in that town hall:

1) "We'll get everyone together and find a solution" is the "I don't yet have a plan for that" dodge that Harris is criticized for.
2) "at a price everyone can afford" is not a pledge to make redundant private insurers, which is what she was specifically asked to own and refused to do so.

My guess is that her plan isn't medicare for all but something similar to the medicare x (but knowing her, more fleshed out) that some others have been endorsing. Personally, I think that the electorate will more easily embrace something like that where they can keep their current insurance if they want But, I also think that its not popular among the "base" right now.

Warren isn't about being a socialist. She's about a lot of policies that have elements of socialism in them, because they make sense for the people.

This right wing trope needs to die. Medicare for all isn't about "being a socialist." It's about delivering what the rest of the civilized world has: a better functioning, more cost effective health care system that doesn't leave millions of people at risk of bankruptcy or death because of profiteering chicanery.

Her waffling on this issue is the primary reason I can't support her. Mealy mouthed bullshit and dissembling, what else is she going to cave on?

I mean if that is your qualifier....better give up voting for anyone. :p

No one candidate is gonna be the end all candidate. Pick the one that most aligns with your vision and support them....then when it comes down to the election...good god be part of the resistance.

Ideally I do not want a president in their 70s. Yeah, I'm not getting any younger but I'd love to have someone who may not keel over being sworn in.

I wanted Warren to be my first lady pres (in 2016) and if she makes it to the big dance I will gladly vote her in. But it is a long road ahead...ffs some of these peeps may not even be breathing by election time.

Please. This is the primary, not the general. It won't stop me from voting for her in the general. But I will not support her in the primary.

Personally, I don't think Biden can beat Trump. But if the Dem candidate is Biden, and if he actually beats Trump, we're only delaying fate. Biden does not have the perspective to address the deep rot of political corruption and income inequality. The next time voters decide to burn it all down, the populist they follow will be smarter than Trump.
Yes, I am not sure if he is the New Hillary or the New Pelosi. How much is she going to let donnieco get away with before she puts her foot down? Her worry is if she i-words anyone the Ds will lose what little they have in Washington but if she does not they CERTAINLY will. Hello to the green party or pretty much anyone else.
