Firestorm

It is slightly different in Firestorm as they replaced the texture tab with their own, though I was able to figure it out following along with the original tutorial a few days ago.

So I'm having a bit of a problem with this. Once I create it, (selecting reflection in features), I can no longer select the object after that, for example, if I want to move it or take it back into my inventory. The only way I can get rid of it is to go into build, then region objects and then use "take" to bring it back into my inventory.

The sequel will probably be better.

I think there is a setting in the build menu (at the top) options, you have to use so reflectors can be selected.

I imagine it's because they often consume an entire space and would make it impossible to select anything else since you would always be "inside" it.

Reflection probes are not selectable by default after they are placed. On the Build menu, under Options, there is Select Reflection Probes, then you can click on it.

Something that tripped me up the second time I did a mirror is I forgot the step on the reflection probe where you have to change the type of the probe to mirror (real time? - I am not in world atm). I couldn't figure out why it worked the first time but not the second. Still, the implementation is stupid! So much effort when there should have just been a selection for mirror on the texture properties.

They're reflective! They never were before.

I bought some sunglasses in 2007, but I haven't worn them in about a year. Yesterday, I put on an outfit that incorporated them and suddenly noticed they are reflective, like a mirror. These are no-mod, so I can't thoroughly investigate them. I'm wondering, though, what settings on prims from 2007 could have brought on this unexpected result? Were the SL developers that far-sighted that prim settings that tried to achieve approximate reflectivity were converted to achieve modern SL reflectivity, with no user modifications necessary?

I could be wrong, but I don't think the different prim settings existed in 2007 to make them reflective... do you have a Marketplace link? I wonder if they sent out an update at some point that you forgot you collected? That's really weird.... it seems uncanny they'd be that far ahead in 2007.

I agree, hence my question. If she ever was in the Marketplace, she's not there now: Kaylea Cotton, 21 years of SL age. Her profile contains no reference to her store/products. I remember buying them from a store in-world. I've used them a lot in various outfits; they're a set of wraparounds with script-controlled frame settable to any one of 4 colors. The product is named: "Sassy Glasses Sport with menu color changer." As I wrote, they're no-mod and so beyond my ability to see how they are made insofar as reflectivity is concerned.

Those things visible in the reflections on the lenses are present and exist in my field of view were I looking through the glasses at what is in front of me.

This is how they looked yesterday:

This is how the glasses looked in January this year:

Firestorm is different between the two versions, since there was an update between the two. Otherwise, I am confused. 🤷

Vaguely sorry to say this but I had to look at this thread because all I can think of is drinking too much PBR and that it wouldn't taste good and would probably not be reflective.

What a work, while the solution is so simple.
Cam around your avatar and look how pretty you are.
Done.

I've seen something like that happening with some things, surprised the heck out of me. I've seen it in a floor, worked even with mirrors off.
