Oh gee, why am i not surprised? Oh wait .. I'm not surprised because I did not get my hopes up and treated the very first reports about tis - where it was looking like this would be treated as a loan - as the way it would likely go.

Hell, I have a fucking Payee so .... Yeah.

If I am not mistaken, if their parents do not count them on their tax returns as dependents then the 17 and overs can file their own tax returns even if they made zero and as long as they meet the other requirements, (Social Security number etc) they too can receive the $1200 payment. So, this article is slightly misleading and I hope that they update their information soon, like before the parents file their taxes this year.
