Big Mac Index might help with relative spending power.

Japan appears to sit at about 80% of the Euro Area. So back of the napkin math means 82 euro in Japan might mean ~100 euro in Europe. Paid under the table. in a bio hazard.
Actually that is about the equivalent of 90USD a day
plus its a subcontractor to the local municipality. Theyre just trying to get people to work for cheap and who they need take no responsibility for later.
Pretty much what they are paying cleanup crew at the fukushima nuclear plant.

I was reaching for some cost of living price parity with that index rather than a direct currency translation. Like if they were paying that in Manila it would go further than Yokohama. If they tried it in Norway they’d get laughed at.

Otherwise, full agreement. That pay is shit.

Except for one.

The governor of Mississippi has issued an executive order overriding and canceling individual cities and municipalities' self-declared restrictions. The executive order includes a blanket suggested (and non-enforced) "social distancing" and crowd-size restriction, but then goes on to declare most businesses in the state "essential" and exempt from the restriction, including offices and factories of every kind.

It's not a good time to live in NYC right now... first patients are hitting up the hospitals, and they are NOT prepared.

"We ended up getting our first positive patients -- and that's when all hell broke loose," said one New York City doctor.
The doctor, who spoke to CNN on condition of anonymity out of concern for his job, described a hospital that was woefully unprepared for an influx of Covid-19 patients that started roughly two weeks ago -- which has already stretched the hospital's resources thin and led to severely ill patients outnumbering ventilators.
"We don't have the machines, we don't have the beds," the doctor said.
"To think that we're in New York City and this is happening," he added. "It's like a third-world country type of scenario. It's mind-blowing."
At first, patients skewed toward the 70-plus age group, but in the past week or so there have been a number of patients younger than 50.
"I don't think they understand the severity of this disease," the doctor said of the younger patients.
"Two weeks ago, life was completely different."

Yes, one of the things at a work meeting is discussing giving tech help. I am torn. I would be all in EXCEPT for the fact they prefer in person help to remote.

Doctor: You know that other prime-time show on your network? It's trying really hard to kill people.
Oh this Dr. Hernandez fool. Making Hannity promote a potentialy deadly self medication was a good plan to get rid of the president and literarily get away with murder* ... now he ruined that chance.

*or not so, folks could still lock up Hannity after such an event - which would have been a bonus

The US Senate has passed the bill with a unanimous vote. It goes now to the House.
Appparently they included a passus that Trump will not be able to save his faulty tower with money from the emergency aid.

Why is the only one mentioning this detail Trevor Noah? Can someone check that up please?

I read at least three articles that mentioned it yesterday. President, most administration officials, members of Congress, and their direct relatives can't get money from the loan programs.

there has been a spike of 400 cases being reported in Florida. Most of them coming from Miami Dade county. Mayor has used his power to trigger an extended local state of emergency. The latest Emergency order has a stay at home request for anyone over the age of 65 to limit their exposure. They fail to understand that due to the rising cost of rent allot of younger adults are living with their parents, grand parents, guardians and still have a heavy chance of exposure/spreading. Theres also a curfew being put in place form 10pm to 5am. They keep insisting that a lockdown isnt practical..will see about that >.> Cops are being asked to monitor businesses to help crack down on ones that are still open that shouldn't be.

seems overall everyone is reaching their mental limit... each county and city are trying to do their own things while the state refuses.

And almost all of Mississippi's money comes from the Casinos, if I'm not mistaken.
