Important A Note On Political Discussions

We are in the midst of a chaotic and terrifying time in the United States and quite frankly for the rest of the world. I know many of us are feeling angry, frustrated and scared. I never put limits on what can be discussed here, but something occurred recently that I felt I needed to address. There will be zero tolerance for any kind of incitement to violence or threats, no matter how subtle or implied. Beyond opening yourself up to potential consequences, it could put the site at risk as well. This is my one and only warning about this. Violation of this will result in immediate banning.

I'll work harder to stay out of the margin between expressing myself and 'incitement'. Not that anyone would listen to me anyway.

They'll bring ruin down on their own heads. Rallying people into helping make that happen sooner will just give them a target to unify against.

I missed this thread when it was first posted but am happy to see it. I sometimes feel like an outsider trying to caution against threats of violence in some circles of people who are understandably very angry.

I get it, believe me. I just went through having my mother's insurance deny her any more time in a nursing home even though she was not ready to go and they even denied an appeal from her doctor. I have complicated feelings about all of that, and the current things going on. It is just best not to vocalize them. It is getting scary out there.

Personally, I am pretty pacifist about physical violence, though that doesn't mean I wouldn't cheer if something happened to some people. I prefer the concept of murdering with words.

It does feel really frustrating though because frankly, that does not seem to get anywhere anymore when the people destroying everything have zero shame.
