Hackers reportedly stole $2.3 million from the Wisconsin Republican Party just weeks before the election using a scheme involving manipulated invoices, the Associated Press reports. The group noted the theft on October 22nd; Wisconsin Republican Party Chairman Andrew Hitt says that the FBI is currently investigating the case.

According to Hitt, hackers used faked invoices from several vendors the campaign was working with for things like election mailings and Trump merchandise. Instead of featuring the vendor’s payment information, the documents relayed the money to the hackers.

This kind of hack is actually a fairly common scam: Facebook and Google were hit by a similar phishing scheme in 2017 to the tune of $100 million.

More of this sort of thing please!

This is Harris County's "fuck you" to the governor for limiting drop box locations to one per county. Meanwhile, across Texas, early votes have reached 95% of the 2016 total vote. When you add election day voting, it's going to end up a big jump in the total.

Doomsday prep...

President Donald Trump was expected to appear at the Trump International Hotel on election night but has cancelled those plans and will likely to be at the White House instead, The New York Times reported on Friday.

Advisers told the Times that Trump was originally going to appear at the hotel in Washington for an election night party — his campaign had even distributed multiple fundraising solicitations to his supporters. At least one of the solicitations included an image of President Trump and first lady Melania Trump, and the words: “Join us on election night.” the Times reported.

“November 3rd will go down in history as the night we won FOUR MORE YEARS. It will be absolutely EPIC, and the only thing that could make it better is having YOU there,” it read.
Not. Any. More.

Amazing.

Texas Beats Total 2016 Vote Count Four Days Before Election Day
Through Thursday, more than 9 million Texans had cast ballots, compared with 8.97 million four years ago, a record high at the time. Neither party knows who will benefit most from the surge, but it has put the reliably Republican state in play as a full-out battleground in the campaign’s final days.

Nowhere has seen a more dramatic display of enthusiasm than Harris County, home to Houston, Texas’s biggest city and the embodiment of its rapid growth and diversifying suburbs. The county’s votes so far compose more than 15% of all those cast in the sprawling state. The remarkable numbers are driven in part by innovations by freshly appointed County Clerk Chris Hollins.

Trump is so far up his own asshole he's already blaming the Supreme Court for his loss. You know, the one he's put 3 justices on!

More details about what to expect on election night.

The bad news: States in the lightest green will face the longest delays because they don't start counting mail ballots until election day.

The good news: Based on competitiveness and electoral weight, we will have a good picture if not Tuesday, then late Wednesday.

The biggest problem will be Pennsylvania, where Biden leads but there are shenanigans afoot and multiple lawsuits already.
Of the other late reporting states, many are not close. Nevada may be important if Pennsylvania goes to the Republicans, but the others aren't in play, and if they flip from projections things are already seriously amuck.

Much of the Midwest will not be reported out Tuesday night, but should be Wednesday or Thursday. Trump may have a Tuesday night lead, with mail ballots expected to break more heavily for Biden. The longer the count takes, the more opportunity there will be for legal interference, but hopefully we will have good indicators on Tuesday (Florida is key, Trump MUST win there but Biden can lose if the Midwest holds: Biden can even lose Pennsylvania and Florida if he takes Arizona, North Carolina, and Georgia).
