LL had another fabulous brainwave: The event region.

That's actually the use case I was thinking of. Some of those cam sims are quite large. But they aren't common.

LL had another fabulous brainwave: The event region.

I have a rather hard time believing that they'll be selling a large number of these. But I imagine that there's minimal effort in setting them up on their part vs their other region types.

Can one simply stand there like a normal person? (Looking for a new AO)

I use Vista AOs myself, with some edits here and there. Sometimes I'll mix animations between a couple of different ones.

    Why Doesn't LL Expand Zindra?

There's simply no real need for a landmass like Zindra, when you get down to it, that isn't already being handled more effectively by private regions.

Hm. Legacy body uses Media on a Prim for their HUD, but there's no GDPR compliance statement anywhere... RedZone, anyone?

Honestly, when I hear people talking about trying to eliminate customer complaints really I just tend to lump it into 'My HUD code is shit and it would eat into my entire business model if people figured out how to load in their own scripts.' But every now and then you MIGHT run into someone who...

Hm. Legacy body uses Media on a Prim for their HUD, but there's no GDPR compliance statement anywhere... RedZone, anyone?

Things usually wind up being made No Mod by people justifying a combination of money making and trying to eliminate stupid customer support complaints. Not always on that order. There's also a certain amount of lazy code being hidden, several hair companies have gone NoMod because it turned out...

Hm. Legacy body uses Media on a Prim for their HUD, but there's no GDPR compliance statement anywhere... RedZone, anyone?

As someone who uses a Legacy body for one of their avatars: Yes. If your body cannot phone home to Legacy's servers the HUD dies, and you cannot make any changes to your body. No custom alpha cuts. No manual foot state changes. No manual hand state changes. No adjustments to your material...

It had to happen sooner or later....

It astounds me that someone can still be around after all these years, and still be just as insufferable.

Hm. Legacy body uses Media on a Prim for their HUD, but there's no GDPR compliance statement anywhere... RedZone, anyone?

This is the same company that uses threats of bricking the AVs of anyone who is using an 'unathorized' devkit, whether it was made using their assets or not, as an opening line in negotiations. And starts singing a different tune when they find out the person they're threatening has a lawyer on...

Hm. Legacy body uses Media on a Prim for their HUD, but there's no GDPR compliance statement anywhere... RedZone, anyone?

Legacy is definitely talking to some external server, I've had the HUD on a body I use sometimes scream and die on me at least once when their webserver crapped out for a few hours. I'm trying to decide if I want to continue using the body at all in response to some of the shit I've seen out of...

So here's some comedy. It's come out that Legacy has the ability to brick their mesh bodies based on user UUID.

Gachas to be banned in Second Life

No, you can't. But this is not a surprise and has been coming for years, the warning signs of a future crackdown have been there for ages and the smart money would've been on getting into things that did not leave you dependent on a business model that tread perilously close to the splash zone...

Gachas to be banned in Second Life

'Surely, the increasing tide of government regulation against massive, multi-million dollar gaming companies for predatory practices will not spook my small Silicon Valley operated niche game.' says the Gacha creator, nervously, for the 20th time this decade.

Are Gachas Considered Loot Boxes (And Gambling)?

This is basically tied to ongoing regulations, and LL is getting out in front of things before they are MADE to respond to things on someone else's time table.

I have no idea how many times over the years I've looked at a nice outfit at an event, realized it was gacha. And sighed and walked away, because I'm not dancing that dance.

    Black Dragon Viewer

The best solution I've found for prolonged gray remains zooming way out until the region isn't visible, then pulling back in. That usually shakes things out. I notice it most of all when I first log in for the day.
