Hypergridbusiness published a story today announcing the opening of a grid by the Hacktivist group Anonymous, where "Anonymous" is a one "Commander X", who is currently a fugitive in Mexico.

Regions can be rented for five dollars in Gloebits.

Looks like a nice chunk of baloney to me.
If Anonymous wanted or needed a grid for whatever reason, there would be one thing really important: Stay Anonymous.
Why on earth would they give themselves (partly) away like this?

I tend to agree. At best this is a publicity stunt for "Commander X" and his asylum bid. At worst it's some psyop /Active Measures-style (or -more likely- wannabe psyop) bullshit.

Anonymous isn't an actual group. Literally anyone can call themselves anonymous. If you and I wanted to go and protest, i dunno, Second life, we could call ourselves Anonymous if we wanted to.
