I'll bet you're one of the ones that always spelled Philip Rosedale's name with 2 L's. 🤭

I am honestly, absolutely terrible with names.

It's like some sort of weird kryptonite or something because I remember a lot of other stuff, and even remember faces and people, just not names.

Yep. I may not remember your name, especially if I don't see you very often, but I will always remember your face, even if I have only met you once.

I have marginal prosopagnosia, so I remember names but it takes me a long time to associate them with faces and even then I remember people by context more than faces, "the dry cleaning guy", "the guy in the bookstore", "My neighbor across the back fence". When they call out to me in the grocery store it's always terrible.

So:

About ten years after the Spanish flu, Nazis were all about killing the drains on society that are people with long Spanish flu.

Today's COVID denialists are tomorrow's eugenicists calling for something to be done about these disabled drains on society.

As of July 1, you no longer have to wear a mask in public in Oregon.

It was nice knowing you all.
You no longer have to, but can't you do so if you want to? It's been lifted her for a while now, and I still see plenty of people with masks. Some people are afraid to let their guard down because of the delta variant (a quite understandable concern) and others like the way they didn't get sick from other things while wearing them.
Or would the anti -mask lunatics get hostile if you wore one?

Masks prevent you from infecting others if you're infected and they're not.

Wolfie's mask protects other Oregonians from her, should she be so unfortunate as to become positive for Covid. They do little to protect her from others, though.

(The main reason everyone masks up in an operating theatre isn't that they're worried they'll catch something from the patient.)

True, but my brother (the doctor one) says it's better than nothing. And N95s (or KN95s) are better than cloth. (I know a good site to get the latter, if anyone needs them or wants to have some on hand just in case).

On my recent visit to my endocrinologist, I wore a mask going in. There was only one patient (& spouse) besides staff. No one was wearing a mask, including the doctor, because all were vaccinated.
This is the same doctor who advised extreme caution last year. He's not anti -mask now, he just feels the vaccines are effective enough for vaccinated people to behave like things are normal.
My brother doesn't. So it seems to me that opinion varies widely between medical personnel.
My pharmacists still wear masks.. If they didn't, though, it wouldn't be enough to put me off new that I'm vaxxed. If they expressed COVID denialism, that sure would.
